video!

After numerous battles with technology, I finally uploaded the video of Hittade from the recital! The balance is a little off because of the cheap camera mic, but you can get the idea! Comments (both positive and constructive) are more than welcome. Consider it a challenge...a lot of people claim that they read this, but I rarely get comments...so now's your chance to leave me with your thoughts!! :)

  1. Oh wow! How neat.... I really enjoyed it!!! I am so excited for you :) I love your all adventures that you are going through over there. Composing music is wonderful... Europe does that to you... ;) (well not me...yet. but everyday I walk here and I feel like how people get inspired by everything here and feels like 'must' to write music or paint... or even to photograph...) Conglatulations!!!!!

  2. Awesome piece! I really liked the contrasting sections individually (and they work great together!) for different reasons, but it pretty much rocked. It's awesome that you're out there doing all of this. You're inspiring me to kick my own butt and practice more. Congratulations on a success!

  3. Very cool Maria!! I enjoyed the piece a lot! I liked the variety of some of the middle sections. The percussion scoring compliments the marimba part very well. Who is playing with you? It looks like Daniel on the bass drum part, but who are the other two? Keep kicking ass!!

  5. You looked like you really knew what you were doing; how do you memorize all those moves?
Now I''m going to be humming this piece all day now!

  6. Absolutely amazing, Maria. It's such a cool piece, and I love all the different colors and rhythmic sequences! It's also very "Maria" which I LOVE and of course it makes me miss you soooo much. Kisses!

  7. Maria - That was awesome, from your initial rhythmic walk unto the stage to the very last build-up! Some of the slower, more mysterious sections reminded me of those occasional times when I'd be lying awake in the middle of the night and listening to all the sounds around me, but not being quite sure wether they are for real or from a "dream" world. Very nice! Good start to my day. :-)
